You need an agent, then a lender, then an inspector, then someone to handle the repairs the inspector turns up, and often someone else for the ones that surface after you move in. Somewhere in the middle of it, you become the project manager of your own move, tracking who is waiting on whom and translating between people who have never spoken to each other. Nobody signs up for that job. It just lands on you.
